The Domaine was created in 1932 by the grandfather “Désiré Petit”.  27 hectares of vines have been planted in the heart of this famous vineyard of the Jura. Located between Burgundy and Switzerland, this cool climate wine region with an elevation between 250 -400m above sea level, produces wines with some similarities to Burgundy.

The Domaine Désiré Petit is certified Biodynamic. Today the Domaine is run by the 3rd generation consisting of a young dynamic team of brother and sister. Damien is producing the wines and Anne-Laure is looking after the vineyards and marketing.

Vinification: Made in a traditional fashion, the wine completed its fermentation in 600L oak barrels and underwent regular Bâtonnage (stirring of the lees) through its first 2-3 months, and then each week until bottling. Regularly topped up to prevent oxidation and aged for 18 months in a closed demi-muid - this is unusual for Savagnin in the Jura.

Tasting notes: With aromas of citrus oils and subtle notes from the wood it has matured in, this has minerality and a marked hazelnut character. Long and elegant, with a very slight hint of aniseed on the finish.

Region: Jura, France

Grapes: Savagnin

Soil: Limestones, gravels, blue marks, and clay

Size: 750ml
